V to the Kay = Honeymoon Vacation!

ice%20cream.bmp You’re absolutely right. It IS almost two years late but hey, there’s no statute of limitations. So, yes, we’re FINALLY going on our honeymoon.

We’re heading to Vermont tomorrow. Gonna be there until Saturday. You know what that means, don’t you? That’s right. Antiques, ice cream, and loving.

So I’ll see you the week of the 21st. If anything engagementy or weddingy happens while I’m gone, I’ll be pissed that I can’t report on it. But I’ll be slugging down that Ben & Jerry’s creamy goodness, so it kinda evens out.

Be good while I’m gone. I won’t be.

Honeymoon with (Pregnant?) Britney Spears in Hawaii

Maybe the honeymoon is the only reason some people get married. Pretty good reason. Personally, I wouldn’t need some big lavish getaway. I’d be happy lounging in my backyard. But that’s just me. Yeah, I’m not normal. OK.

Of this list of ten, I’d choose Florence, Italy because it’s such a beautiful city.
No. Wait. I’d choose Walt Disney World for the fun factor!
Hang on. Changed my mind again. I’d choose Hawaii because Britney Spears may still be there and I can ask her if she’s preggers.

Delano Hotel: Bridal White

White dress. White veil. White shoes. White cake. White flowers. It seems that everything about a wedding screams WHITE. So what better place to spend your wedding night than the Delano Hotel in South Beach, Florida? The hippest hotel is located on Collins Ave. in Miami Beach, and is hot, hot, hot. WHITE HOT! Hey, if Will Smith, Barbra Streisand, and Donna Karan have been recent guests, the place has to be a sizzler. Tsssssss.

After five years, [it] remains the hottest cool hotel in town. It's center-of-South Beach location with it's peaceful beachfront village is near but not on top of the neon night scene. The hotel's "flowing white" interior theme was designed by famed French designer Philippe Starck. Every luxurious, lavishly appointed room boasts either a breathtaking view of the Miami Skyline or the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Simply walk out the hotel's back door and you will find yourself on miles and miles of pristine beaches. The Delano Hotel is truly at home amidst the beautiful people and extravagant elegance of South Beach.

They don’t appear to have wedding facilities, but for a pure white, white hot wedding night or honeymoon, this is a slice of heaven …with white frosting.

Honeymoon Destination: Fiji

The topic of honeymoon locations has come up. Being the easy-going chick that I am, I’d be happy hanging out in the backyard with my guy. But we don’t have a backyard. And my guy really, really, really wants to go someplace rockin’. So we plop down on the couch, laptop in lap, and start investigating. Now, I’d had my share of research in planning the wedding, so I let him drive this time. But then I looked over -- to be honest, I’d been watching TV while he did the work -- and saw what he was staring at: pictures of Fiji. A lot of the photos were of water, and I’m not a strong swimmer, but, holy canoli, the place looked like all that and a bag of barbeque chips. The Fiji islands in the South Pacific are the location of a number of resorts, each one offering luxury, comfort, and a slice of heaven. Speaking of which, ‘Lomalagi’ (as in Lomalagi Resort) “means ‘Heaven’ in the Fijian language.” And Turtle Island, the location for the film “The Blue Lagoon” offers “accommodation to only 14 couples on this 500 acre private island.” I think that no matter which Fiji location we choose, our backyard -- when we have one -- will never measure up.
