I’m Canadian and I’ll Marry You …Once

So I guess this means that my husband is stuck with me. Or I’m stuck with him. Whichever one fits. Because I’m Canadian and I’m only getting married one time. For better or for worse. Etc, etc…

A new study has found that most Canadians marry once and only once, and less than one per cent walk down the aisle more than twice.

My husband is American. I wonder if this affects our numbers.

The Statistics Canada study found several factors were associated with the risk of a breakdown in the first and subsequent marriages - and at least three were common to both. These were the age of the bride and groom, the length of the marriage itself and the strength of an individual's commitment to the institution.

I’m 41, he’s 34. (Yeah, I know. Go me!) We’ve been married just under a year (our anniversary is July 10). And both of us could be committed to an institution. A mental institution. How does THAT affect our chances? Huh? Huh?

Regardless, I’m only doing it once.
