Alan Cumming and Boyfriend Get Married in the UK

I just KNOW that you thought that I was going to make some sort of quip based on Alan’s last name. Well, neener neener neener, I’m above that. [Well, not really, but that’s neither here nor there.]

Alan Cumming married illustrator Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony outside London over the weekend, the actor's spokeswoman, Bianca Bianconi, said Tuesday.

I’ve never seen anything that Alan Cumming’s been in. [I could’ve put in a lewd joke there too. Proud of me for holding back?] To be honest, I’ve never even HEARD of Alan Cumming. But I just loved the eclectic guest list that Alan and Grant had at their wedding:

Among the 140 guests were Ian McKellen, Geri Halliwell, Rufus Wainwright, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Monica Lewinsky.

Monica Lewinsky??? Now there’s the crude joke you’ve been waiting for!!!

The gift I’m giving them: Yes, even though I don’t know them, I’m giving them a gift. I’m giving them this. It’s a Big Ben retro one, in recognition of their being married in the UK. And they can count the time that it’ll take for same-sex marriages to be have the same civil rights elsewhere. See how I’m not joking?!? This is a worthy battle.
