Apprentice Bill Rancic Engaged to E! News Anchor Giuliana DePandi

Am I the only one who thinks of the word ‘rancid’ when saying Bill Rancic’s last name? But don’t get me wrong -- I like him. I always liked him. In fact, at the start of that first season of the Apprentice, my aunt and I both said “He should win.” Granted, he’s good looking, but we both saw brains in that cute head too.

Anyhoo, he’s getting married. Not to me. (I’m married.) Not to my aunt. (She’s married.) But to someone else who’s pretty smart for getting him: Giuliana DePandi. (I think of Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of NYC, when I say her name.)

They got engaged this past Friday. They’d been dating (each other) since April. They’re going to get married in Italy late next year.

"At first I thought Bill was surprising me with a helicopter ride over downtown Chicago to see the Christmas lights, then suddenly he pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and asked me to marry him," DePandi, 31, said in a statement on the E! News website. "I was so excited I could barely speak."

Wow! Helicopters and beautiful rings. He IS a smart guy!

The gift I’m giving them: A selection of this. It fits. She’s Italian (born in Naples). They’re getting married in Italy. And -- this is the best part -- it’s not rancid!
