Honeymoon travel health

Does that tropical wedding or African safari honeymoon sound idyllic? Maybe so, but if you develop a preventable illness while abroad, it wouldn't be so ideal. So many engaged Canadians really should add travel health to their wedding planning.

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is a perfect place to research travel health. Its website has excellent information on Canadian travel health clinics, disease information backgrounders, immunization and vaccines and more

According to PHAC, "three key reasons to consult with your health care provider or travel health clinic before travelling:
1. Understand health risks
2. Learn personal preventative measures you may need while travelling
3. Know what vaccines to get and when to get them."

The agency advises that you "contact your health care provider or a travel health clinic ideally, at least six weeks before departure."
