The date and location of your wedding is going to be crucial when you are trying to decide on your wedding cake.

After all, if your wedding is going to be taking place outdoors in a warm climate, of course the idea of a mousse or ice cream cake is going to be absurd.

The best idea here will be for you to speak to your chosen baker and ask them for their advice on which types of cake are in season for the time of your wedding.

Number of Guests

The number of guests that are invited to the wedding will be very important here, and play a major role in terms of which sort of wedding cake you should get.

You are going to want to have a large enough cake that there will be at least for each guest to have at least one piece of cake.

Theme of the Wedding

You are going to want to make sure that whatever cake you choose is going to fit in with the rest of the wedding theme. Think similar colors and patterns.

Also don't forget personal preference, because after all this is your wedding, and what you say goes! What's your flavor? You may choose the basic vanilla cake, or add a little pizazz and have a funkier flavor, such as chocolate coconut.
