Mr. Sulu Weds!

George Takei, Star Trek alum, or Mr. Sulu as you Trekkies better know him, got married this weekend.

He married his partner of twenty-one years, Brad Altman, in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Takei, 71, and Altman, 54, were married in a ceremony at the Japanese American National Museum that featured a Buddhist priest and bagpipe procession.

They have both been outspoken gay-rights advocates for years now, which was one of the main reasons they wanted to make their special celebration so public.

The couple even wrote their own vows, with George proclaiming to Brad, "I vow to care for you as you've cared for me...and to love you as my husband and the only man in my life."

Sounds like a beautiful ceremony and we're sure they are grateful that same-sex marriage was recently legalized in their home state of California.

This is the latest gay marriage to take place in the sunny state since Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi just a little over a week ago.
