Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are Engaged

Oh yes, my friends, if The National Enquirer says it, I believe it. Don’t you?

And on the same date -- February 1 -- although a few years apart from my own engagement, I’m announcing the engagement of Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo.

Now Nick and Vanessa are mulling destinations for their wedding and honeymoon, disclosed a friend. "Since they both love Baja, Mexico, it will probably happen south of the border, where they first fell in love."

Ho hum, ho hum. Vanessa’s no Jessica, that’s for sure. I happen to like Jessica Simpson, “Chicken of the Sea” snafus and all. Vanessa’s boring. Well, so is Nick. So maybe this is a good match. Just so long as they don’t do another version of Newlyweds. It won’t fly without Jess.

Anyway, this is dragging. Comes with the boredom.

The gift I’m giving them: A bunch of these to liven the party up. Come on you two! Make some noise!
